Our spoiler warning today comes courtesy of Kit Harington, who told us before discussing the finale, “Anyone who watches Thrones, close your ears! In other cast member news, a couple weeks back we posted a still from a photoshoot Isaac Hempstead Wright did for GQ Style. Curiously, it’s a line that Dany comes very close to repeating during their season eight premiere adventure as well. No one would find us,” she tells Jon, as the dragons watch them embrace. With the show filming in Iceland, it provided the backdrop for the couple’s real-life romance to blossom.
The episode sees him hang the traitors of the Night’s Watch who murdered him, but far more important than that; it sees Jon leave the Night’s Watch. He gave his life, and that was his watch over; he could then go on to help the North and rally against the dead. However, “The Pointy End” is one that is huge for Jon Snow’s entire character throughout all eight seasons, as well as having major implications for the show. It is Jon’s first encounter, and kill, of a Wight, and acts as a catalyst for Jon Snow’s journey to finding out about the Army of the Dead and the Night King. In this episode, not only is Jon out on his first expedition as a ranger, but he meets Ygritte. He and Ygritte are one of the few romances in the show filled with genuine, mutual love, and this episode kicks that off with Jon’s refusal to kill her.
How One Moment From Daenerys’ Romantic Scene With Jon Could Hint at Her Downfall
Jon offers up a confession, finallytelling her that he loves her, and the only reason he was able to ride away alive because she loved him back. The episode as it pertains to Jon pretty much kicks off the rest of his story; it gets him killed, allowing him to get resurrected to fight in the Battle of the Bastards and against the Army of the Dead. It started here when he convinced the Wildlings to come through the wall. Of course, it also has the Night King in the first proper look at his power as he raises all those who died in the battle.

Somebody here said that if Dany were to die in s8 Jon would be a broken man but would he really? As Davos said, he caught Jon staring at Dany’s “good heart” meaning that Jon’s main attraction to Dany is more physical than emotional. He basically sees her as a bootycall because he finds her so beautiful. With the Wildling on the other hand it was more complex.
She tells him she knows of his secret, that he’s not loyal to the Free Folk, yet she doesn’t intend to reveal that secret. In her mind, they were two anonymous soldiers in the rival armies of other men, but they know they have each other, and to her, that’s everything. Both started out as disrespected and lowly individuals who gradually gained strength, helped those in need and became beloved leaders. These qualities suggest they could have made a great team. After a moment of silence from Jon, Olly gives him one final look of hatred before he is hanged along with the others. Although Olly literally stabbed him in the heart, Jon is plagued by guilt for executing him, as he was a boy even younger than Jon’s “brother” Bran. Ygritte is eighteen when she is first introduced, and is described as short for her age, skinny but well-muscled, with a round face, small hands, a pug nose, crooked white teeth, and blue-grey eyes that are too far apart.
Once again, Ygritte was the one pressuring Jon into sex, but this time she got her way. After stripping in front of him, Jon began kissing her and slowly made his way south. Ygritte tried to deliver a “you know nothing, Jon Snow,” but was promptly distracted. Jon Snow first met Ygritte on season two when he went ranging beyond the Wall. News, Leslie gave birth over Valentine’s Day weekend, and the couple was spotted outside with the newborn on Tuesday, February 16.
At least the scenery is pleasant, because this is just gross now. After the battle was won, Jon personally took Ygritte beyond the Wall and built her a funeral pyre. As she burned, Jon turned and walked away as he cried.
We don’t even move to my room, we just get right to business on the couch. It’s really really good, it’s usually better when we haven’t done it in a while. Does Joffrey think I should lose weight for modeling, or does he think I have too many food issues? It seems like more often than not he’s talking down to me, but at least he isn’t pressuring me to have sex. Lately, Jon’s been feeling less calm, cool, and collected than ever before — and because the universe has shit timing, there’s a new problem to add to the mix. Sansa Stark, the girl he’s been pining for from afar, has agreed to appear on a dating show with a freakishly high success rate.
Game of Thrones has some applicable management lessons, even if you don’t have the power of life or death. Though Jon refused to bend the knee to Daenerys when they first met, it was never about her, her gender, or what he believed her to be capable of. He remained respectful while maintaining his allegiances to the North. Their relationship, like Jon and Ygritte’s, bloomed from a place of mutual respect for each other’s strength and power. But the person who’s most concerned about their relationship on the premiere appears to be Jon’s best friend and right-hand man, Samwell Tarly. Sam learned from Daenerys herself that she executed both his father and brother for not supporting her quest for the Iron Throne.
Having been spotted in London’s Soho last week, enjoying dinner together, the pair flew out to LA on Thursday. Daenerys first showed how determined and authoritative she can be in season 7 when she commanded Jon Snow to kneel before her as a sign of respect as the queen. However, Jon refused to initially do so because he did not know her. Jon infamously CoffeeMeetsBagel chatting betrayed Ygritte at the end of Season 3 by telling her he decided to stand by his vow of serving on the Night’s Watch instead of being her lover, as he promised her. Therefore, a justifiably angry Ygritte used her catchphrase “You know nothing, Jon Snow” and shot three arrows at him. Ygritte certainly likes to toy with confused young men.
That’s why we’re there and hopefully convincing the audience that these two are attracted to one another, and I think it’s also dedicated to the writing. It’s a wonderful perk when you’re able to get on with your costar, and Kit is a wonderful, wonderful man. He’s very lovely, charming, sweet, and incredibly funny, so having that dialogue off-screen certainly pushes for the relationship they have on-screen. And if you’re willing to trust the other person and allow them to play on-screen with the scene, it’s a lovely attribute to have.
It’s clear he held her to the highest regard—as a soldier, as a person, as a worthy opponent, and as a lover. The show clearly showed that Jon didn’t have sex with daenerys for purely physical reasons. When Davos had that “good heart” comment, Jon said that there was no time for that, and knowing his character, he was serious when he said that there was no time for that.
